The Las Vegas Open is fast approaching, with gamers everywhere gathering their dice and adding those last-minute touches to their armies. As one of the premier tabletop events of the year with numerous tournaments, contests, and vendor shops, LVO is a crown jewel in the world of miniature painting and gaming.
Hosted by Frontline Gaming, LVO is now going on over 10 years of legendary gaming weekends in Neveda’s most well-known city, and The Army Painter is showing up in style this year! No, that doesn’t mean Caleb will be wearing his Elvis outfit despite all of our encouragement, but we will be making 2025 even bigger and better than our 2024 outing!
The Army Painter Challenge
The big news of the weekend, of course, is The Army Painter Challenge, previously announced last week. The world’s first cross-system army painting competition is debuting at this year’s LVO, allowing anyone who is attending a chance to enter their army or skirmish force, and have a chance at winning a trophy, or even the $1,000 grand prize!
Entries for the Challenge will need to be dropped off on Thursday, the 16th, from 4-6 pm, and can be picked up again starting at 9 pm until 12 am. The awards ceremony will take place on the Sunday, with 13 trophies being awarded and one grand prize. You can find out all the details for the event here.
Vendor Booth and Demos
But that’s not all! We’ll also be hosting demos in our booth in the vendor hall all weekend long, with Caleb Wissenback and Adam Abramowicz available to answer all your burning hobby questions. Not only will our Events Team be in attendance, but Uncle Atom, Sam Lenz, and Phil Hall from the Factory Team will be in and out all weekend, hanging out at our booth between their own painting classes and tournament attendance.
We’re also sponsoring both a daily Limited Palette and Speedpaint painting competition in the Verkos Vault hobby area, where you’ll have the opportunity to win prizes and try out our paints first-hand.
LVO 2025 promises to be an action-packed event for us and hopefully you as well! We’re excited to see everyone’s armies for The Army Painter Challenge and to get to chat hobby with everyone – it's one of our favourite things to do. This is just that start of the 2025 calendar year of events as well, with another perennial favourite, Adepticon, just around the corner.
